This fine art counted cross-stitch pattern entitled Vertumnus and Pomona designed from a painting by Francesco Melzi shows the goddess of fruit trees seated with a basket of fruit while the god of seasons, disguised as an elderly woman, leans in to share a confidential word beneath the shade of a towering tree. In creating this piece, the artist wanted to emphasize the harmony between human figures and the natural world, using the myth to explore themes of transformation and persuasion. The colors in this palette feature jewel-toned fabrics in crimson and cerulean that pop against a sprawling landscape of distant mountains and lush, green foliage. The scene is reminiscent of a sun-drenched afternoon in a private garden.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
