This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Baths of Caracalla designed from a painting by Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema represents the spa event of a lifetime dedicated to pampering oneself in an ultimate rest and relaxation fest. In this scene, hundreds of women have flocked to a location to engage in public bathing, rest and relaxation for a brief reprieve from the puritanical and punishing constraints posed on women and men during the Victorian era. The spa in the scene was painted in calming light yellows accented with burgundy, green marble pillars and natural sunlight which created a mellow ambience allowing for total relaxation. This would make a wonderful pattern selection for a woman's boudoir or walk-in closet room. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
