This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Rose Adelaide Ducreux designed from a painting by the artist herself shows a self-portrait and a display of her talents as a musician and artist. She was the eldest daughter of Joseph Ducreux, and was a very talented young woman. As far as painting, she studied under the tutelage of her father, and she was accomplished as a composer as well as a performer. In this scene she is playing a large harp. In 1802 she married François Lequoy de Montgiraud, the Maritime Prefect of Saint-Domingue and moved with him to a colony, but her life was cut short when she caught yellow fever. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
