This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Countess of Vilches designed from a painting by Federico de Madrazo Kuntz shows a formal portrait of Amalia de Llano y Dotres, Countess of Vilches posing in a provocative manner that contrasts with the traditional poses usually found in Spanish aristocracy portraits.  Her head is resting on her hand, and she is gazing out at us, imploring us to notice her presence.  She is holding a fan in her other hand, and is sitting in a grand, floral upholstered chair.  Her dress is of blue satin and trimmed in ruffles around the neckline and bodice.  Her luminescent skin tone makes her really stand out against the dark background and commands our attention.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
