This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Kathleen Newton, A Type of Beauty designed from a painting by James Tissot shows Kathleen, an Irish/British beauty who was the subject of many of the artist's paintings. Here we see her donning a black hat and black lace gloves with a matching fan in her hand. Her dress is red, and the red accents in her hat compliment the color of her dress. Her hair is a rustic reddish color and curly. She and the artist quickly fell in love and cohabitated together until she contracted tuberculosis. She was stylish, beautiful, and the apple of his eye. Kathleen sort of reminds me of the actress Maureen O'Hara from films. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
