This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Portrait of a Boyarina, designed from a painting by Konstantin Egorovich Makovsky, shows a representation of the artist romanticizing the 16th and 17th century Russian elite.  The young woman depicted here is dressed in opulence with jewels, a special traditional headdress for a woman of her elite station, featured against a dark background to emphasize her beauty.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect. Our charts are in black and white only.
