This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Ninth Wave designed from a painting by Ivan Aivazovsky shows a craft in the form of a makeshift raft on rough waters and high waves. Of note is that the raft is in the shape of a cross symbolizing the power of redemption for our sins through the cross. Although the weather can be menacing at times, the tones in the scene are warm which again shows that there is hope for the men on the raft surviving the storm, and for us with anything we face as long as we seek God. Although nature can be destructive, there is also beauty if we look long enough. We are not alone. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
