This Scottish counted cross stitch pattern entitled Cessford Castle, Scotland photographed by Sonya Kate Wilson shows the ruins of a mid-15th century castle located near Cessford Village. It was built in 1450 by Andrew Ker.  The castle was six stories high and had walls 13 feet thick.  Its main purpose was for projection in situations when the castle was under siege.  Here we see remnants of the castle under a somber sky with most of the brilliance illuminating the castle from the left while the tufts of grass billow in the wind.  The picture gives off an understated beauty as the ruined castle represents a bulwark that stood the test of time refusing to be totally obliterated.  No blended colors are used in our patterns.  We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.  Only full cross stitches are used in our designs.
