This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Portrait of Napoleon designed from a painting by Andrea Appiani shows Napoleon being depicted as the King of Italy where he is wearing a French Legion of Honor sash, the Grand Agile collar and the star of the Order of the Iron crown and other regalia. It has been commented on by others that his face looks quite natural, and the accuracy of his likeness is remarkable. Although he was depicted here as the King of Italy, he was the first emperor of France and was an outstanding military general going on to win many victories in battle. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
