This vintage counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Nature of Love Letters shows an old-fashioned mailbox in a wooded area decorated with a sprig of pink wildflowers. Inside the mailbox is a love letter to a maiden, most likely from her secret admirer. She does not know from whom the letter comes from, but she is captivated by the profession of love he has for her and the poetic prose in the way he writes that brings out the romanticism in her. She answers his letters with some of her own hoping that someday when she plans to camp out in the woods to witness by chance the anonymous male suitor, her secret will unfold, but for now she is content in keeping things secret feeling that only time will tell and reveal just who he is. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
