This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Compassion designed from a painting by William Adolphe Bouguereau shows Jesus Christ on the cross being comforted by a man who is also carrying his own cross. As an act of humility, the man is showing compassion for Christ as he suffers. But Christ, as the act of ultimate sacrifice and suffering has shown great compassion and love for us to die for our sins so that we as Christians may have eternal everlasting life. Jesus is pictured here showing the wounds in his side where he was stabbed, the nails in his feet and hands, and the constant stream of blood coursing down his face from the crown of thorns. The sky is dark with drama as the clouds rumble and the heavens weep at the sight of our Lord and Savior. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
