This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Portrait of Grand Princess Maria Nikolayevna designed from a painting by Konstantin Egorovich Makovsky shows the third daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna. The princess pictured here was just 6 years of age and was remembered for her innocent charm. This blond-haired beauty is wearing a light blue ribbon in her hair, a white lacy dress trimmed with a blue sash, and is wearing blue socks with white shoes to match the dress. She is lovingly holding her doll. She died at age 19 when she was brutally executed by Bolsheviks alongside her parents and siblings. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
