This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Fortress Konigstein, Saxon Switzerland designed from a painting by Bernardo Bellotto shows the massive fortress built on sandstone 25 miles above the Elbe River.  It was built in the 16th century and still survives today.  The artist characteristically portrayed architectural complex masterpieces against the beautiful backdrop of natural settings.  The peasants along with animals are seen milling about perusing the countryside, and all is taking place under a cloud-filled sky.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
