This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Russian Squadron on the Sebastopol Roads designed from a painting by Ivan Aivazovsky shows a fleet of Russian ships forming a barrier to keep out the invasion of the French, the British and Turkish fleets and thus protected the city of Sebastopol. People are lined up along the bay cheering on the Russian fleet. The scene has a Sepian cast to it giving it that lovely aged look that endears us all to nostalgia and history. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
