This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Piazza San Marco with the Basilica designed from a painting by Bernardo Bellotto, Il Canaletto shows the beautiful city of Venice with its town square called San Marco. The architecture is characteristic of Byzantine style and is truly stunning! The focal point is the tall bell tower right of center as it seems to soar into the clouds. People are seen milling about engaged in conversation and everyday life in the 18th century. The sky is somber on one side and brightening near the tower. This would be a challenging masterpiece to stitch, but well worth it when finished! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
