This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Mermaid designed from a painting by Elisabeth Jerichau Baumann shows a mermaid lounging near a large boulder. The stillness of the ocean waters help us to focus on the mermaid with the electrifying sky as her backdrop. The mermaid has the tail of a fish, but also has attributes of a woman, and she has used those attributes to bewitch many men. Seaweed is dangling vicariously from her hair as an aquatic accent which makes her all the more charming to humans. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
