This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Eleonora of Toledo and Son designed from a painting by Agnolo Bronzino shows Eleonora as both wife to Cosimo I and mother to her son in a formal portrait. She is dressed in a very ornate gown made with heavy brocade befitting a monarch, and her son is likewise dressed in a suit suitable for a boy his age. The boy is Eleonora's second son which was considered proof of her fertility in creating stability of an heir to ensure the future of the Medici dynasty. The background they are posing in front of is filled with shades of blue, gray and violet. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
