This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Helene Fourment, Lady Rubens designed from a painting by Jan Boeckhorst shows a sitting portrait of the Lady dressed in a black velvet gown with a white sheer collar and a matching hat with embellishment. Her demeanor appears to be pleasant with a slight smile on her face. She is wearing dangling earrings and a pearl necklace to coordinate with her formalwear. She is the young wife of Rubens and became his second wife at the young age of 16. There was quite a large age difference by 42 years. Rubens was totally smitten with his young wife and she became the subject of many of his paintings. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
