This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Boat Ride by Kumkapi in Constantinople designed from a painting by Ivan Aivazovsky shows a group of people taking a boat ride through the Ottoman Empire. The small group of people in the boat is diverse in nature, but they are all have something in common in that they are all there to enjoy the scenic beauty and to be given a grand tour of the city. The vibrant colors add to the beauty of the artist's work as he takes on the art style of realism versus romanticism which he has done in his past work. The grand building in the background called the Hagia Sophia is interweaved with vines that lovingly embrace its stature and beauty. The tall pillar-like conifers in the background give the scene a stately look, and you can see people in the background tending to their daily routines and living the city life. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect
