This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Battle of Waterloo, 1815 designed from a painting by Thomas Jones Barker signals the end of the Napoleonic wars as Napoleon's armies were defeated at the Battle of Waterloo, and subsequently Napoleon gave up his crown and was exiled to the island of St. Helena where he succumbed to arsenic poisoning and died in 1821. In this scene, the air is thick with smoke from the firing of muskets, gunpowder, etc., and horses carrying soldiers are dancing wildly in the thick of battle while men who were shot dead are lying on the ground at the foot of the scene. The colors are bold and vivid showing clarity and detail. This is a must for famous battle buffs! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
