This fine art counted cross-stitch pattern entitled Distracting the Baby designed from a painting by Emile Munier shows a mother gently holding her child while using a small, silver toy to capture the little one’s attention. In creating this piece, Munier wanted to emphasize the quiet patience found in motherhood, no doubt inspired by the soft light of his French home. The palette is a blend of ivory silks and deep shadows, simply breathtaking! It captures the scent of fresh lace and the warmth of a calm nursery. For stitchers like myself, it is peak beauty. Every needle stroke feels like a soft whisper.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
