This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Children Outside a Thatched Cottage designed from a painting by Helen Allingham shows children talking outside their cottage in the village. One of the children is not far from a path that probably leads to the center of the village. The cottage itself is covered with an overgrowth of vines, flowers and shrubs while tall shrubs soaring high above the cottage beautifully decorate the scene adding height to the scene. The atmosphere is bucolic, pleasant and peaceful with three birds light on top of the roof of the cottage. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
