This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Bird of God designed from a painting by Joanna Mary Boyce shows the visage of an angel with rust and red-colored hair who was said to have been chosen to guide a young woman's soul to the afterlife. It is said the woman died at a young age. The look on the angel's face is one of duty and divine purpose as she had been entrusted with a task that was ultimately necessary. The situation possibly coincides with the situation the artist found herself in when she died at the young age of 29 after giving birth to her fourth child. The painting was also an inspiration from the famous poem called The Guardian Angel by Robert Browning. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
