This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Westphalian Landscape designed from a painting by Albert Bierstadt shows a beautiful scene in the German countryside of a small abode with a lovely, planted garden.  Animals are seen roaming in the nearby field, and clothes hung on a clothesline are blowing in the breeze.  The humble abode is nestled against a backdrop of a grove of large trees that tower high above it shielding it from the elements.  There is a babbling brook as a nearby water source that is probably used for menial tasks such as washing clothes, watering the garden etc.  Looming above this settlement is a large gray mass of threatening clouds signaling the event of an impending rainstorm which makes the scene all the more interesting and sets the tone for stormy skies. The colors in the sky are what makes this scene so special and is one of my favorites!  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
