This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Young Maidens with Doves designed from a painting by Hans Zatzka shows two women engaged in leisurely activities and conversation accompanied by the presence of doves. The woman holding a bowl may have brought some seeds for the doves to eat as some of them seem to be eating food on the stone pavers. The scene is rich with fall colors of gold, bronze, burnt sienna and green with a sprinkle of light pink pastel from the flowering shrub. This is a very beautiful scene certainly worth the stitch! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
