This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Sunlight and Shadow designed from a painting by William Kay Blacklock shows a woman sitting comfortably under a shade tree engaged in sewing.  Her dog lies patiently at her feet in the grass near her umbrella.  Although she sits in the protective shadows of the tree, the sunlight filtering in provides enough light for her to be able to continue with her mending, and the gentle breeze is comforting to her.  The colors chosen are beautiful and mellow creating a complementary reverie of colors that mingle together in a pleasant tapestry.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
