This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Portrait of an Unknown Woman designed from a painting by Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoy shows a well-dressed, attractive woman sitting in an open carriage on the Anichkov Bridge in Saint Petersburg, looking at us with a haughty stare. She wears a black hat with a cream plume and a black overcoat trimmed in fur. Some people were offended by the woman's brazen stare and labeled her a high-paying courtesan, but the artist never revealed her identity. An outline of a cityscape appears in the background in light neutral colors. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
