This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Heart of Snow, designed from a painting by Edward Hughes, shows a young woman dressed in a white sheer gown lying on a snowy cliff in a serene winter landscape setting. The scene symbolizes purity and stillness. A more Victorian point of view of the woman suggests that "women are alluring, yet cold and forbidding." Of note is that the woman is wearing a wreath of white blossoms in her hair, which is a stark contrast to the coldness of her surroundings. Nevertheless, the scene in its entirety is meant to portray a calm and tranquil atmosphere. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
