This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Desdemona designed from a painting by Theodore Chasseriau shows Desdemona getting ready to retire to her bed for the evening while her lady servant helps to get her dressed for bed and removes her jewelry. (This is related to the Shakespearean play Othello). Notice that her long raven-colored tresses nearly reach the floor. The entrance to her room is seen in the background with a series of archways and stairs made of marble. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
