This fine art counted cross stitch pattern, entitled Blessed Mother, designed from a painting by George Hitchcock, shows a Dutch peasant mother posing with her baby in a field of wildflowers. A calf is lazily eating out of a trough in the background. It is a bright and sunny day, and evidence of spring is well-noted by the spring blossoms on the trees, all in white. The mother looks serene in her peaceful setting. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
