This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Alethe, Attendant of the Sacred Ibis, designed from a painting by Edwin Longsden Long, shows a young woman who serves as an attendant in the Temple of Isis in Memphis, where the sacred bird is designated as the Ibis. The woman is wearing a white gown with an ecru shawl wrapped around her waist, and an Egyptian-style necklace. An Ibis is perched on her back while eating from a golden plate she is holding in one hand. The other birds are looking up at her expectanting to be fed. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
