This vintage counted cross stitch pattern entitled Girl Holding a Nest shows a young girl cautiously guarding a nest full of eggs containing baby birds soon to be born. The colors in the picture are quite lovely with yellows, golds and cornflower blue. The girl's blond hair is charming and curly and is caught up on one side with an old-fashioned satin bow. She is guarding that nest with her life to make sure birds will come into the world safely and free from danger. No blended colors are used in our patterns. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect. Only full cross stitches are used in our designs.
