This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Ask Me No More designed from a painting by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema shows two ill-fated lovers at their meeting place engaged in acts of love and courtship. The predicament of their situation is mirrored in the fact that both families have a longstanding history of being hostile towards each other, but in spite of that, the couple gradually fell in love but have kept the secret from their parents. Thisbe is sitting on a divan while Pyramus is kissing her hand gently, no doubt, asking for her hand in marriage that they both wish could happen but they know it never will. The backdrop is a calm and tranquil scene of a large body of water, and we see Pyramus has been romantic in bringing Thisbe a bouquet of flowers. He is seen here kneeling and pledging his undying love to Thisbe. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
