This vintage counted cross stitch pattern entitled They Call Me Lil Pumpkin shows a little kitten who had been hiding behind a large pumpkin. He is seen raising his head up over the pumpkin as he enjoys the act of exploring and satisfying his curiosity. He doesn't even know why we humans buy pumpkins during Halloween, nor the fact that they symbolize fall. But he's going to get an education real soon and will find out. Since he loves playing around the pumpkins, this is where he got his name. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
