This vintage Halloween counted cross stitch pattern entitled Spooky House on a Hill designed by Tracey Marvel Kramer shows an old house on a hill long-abandoned but for ghosts that inhabit the home as seen by the lights in the windows. Bats are flying in the air, and there is an air of excitement as both the bats and ghosts know Halloween is coming soon, and they will get a chance to spook all Trick or Treaters bold enough to enter the house. The house has taken on a lovely disheveled look with moss overgrowth and disrepair which is seen as rather charming by ghoulish standards. Anyway, this would be a great Halloween scene to stitch. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
