This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled In the Pontine Marshes designed from a painting by Enrique Serra y Auque shows a scene at dusk in the marshes where the sun is just starting to set, and it highlights certain aspects of the marshes with a golden tinge. The scene is colorful and alive with blues interplaying with tans and sandstone, and the trees in the background add height to the collection of plants and shrubs. Lily pads can be seen floating on top of the water carrying yellow lotus flowers. The shrubs with violet flowers are breathtaking and draw our vision to its color intensity, not to mention the strong shade of azure on the water. This would be an interesting pattern to stitch with all of the colors and textures present. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
