This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Uninvited Guest designed from a painting by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale shows the bride and groom walking down the aisle while with determination as the bride's maid attends to the brides wedding dress. This is a marriage of convenience and status which was prevalent in days of yore where no love was involved at first, but perhaps the couple could develop some sort of fondness for each other later in the marriage. However, Cupid has shown up as the uninvited guest representing love. He is looking bewildered like a spurned lover due to being rejected by the bride, and all he can do is sit by piteously while the bride proceeds with the ceremony. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
