This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Blown Tower of Heidelberg Castle designed from a painting by Carl Blechen shows the castle in complete disarray and literally destroyed by the French and their constant attacks in a battle called The Grand Alliance. What once was a beautiful specimen of architecture has been reduced to crumbled ruins. In this scene, although the castle has been destroyed, there is still beauty noted in the grand scheme of things as we see the beautific sky blue in certain areas with a blanket of white sky and clouds gleaming in the center. The vegetation and tropical trees are still growing in the midst of the ruins. Vegetation is surrounding the ruins and will soon overtake and claim it where it will be reduced to dust which is where it all began. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
