This fine art counted cross-stitch pattern entitled Stitching the Standard designed from a painting by Edmund Blair Leighton shows a woman sitting against a medieval castle wall, totally dedicated to maintaining the high standard of stitching already established. The cloth she is nearly finished with is a pennant that features a black eagle on a gold background. A sense of urgency is noted that future war may be imminent. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
