The artist presents an allegorical scene that shows how fleeting and transient life is, and that our mortality is fragile when compared to life's love for treasures (jewels) which will out-live us all as a person cannot enjoy them when life is over. The backdrop shows a hint of blue ocean just beyond the wide pillar and the redness of the blazing azalea bush dominates the scene. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
