This vintage counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Coach Awaits for Cinderella shows a beautiful pumpkin carriage drawn by two white horses waiting to take Cinderella to the ball at the castle near the mountains. The carriage is highly decorated and festooned with golden flourishes befitting a queen. Fall is in the air with pumpkins scattered in the landscape. The trees are showing their colorful leaves, and the sky is a haze of blue and ivory swirls, completing the idyllic scenery. This is a young girl’s dream to ride in a beautiful carriage and to marry her prince-to-be, soon to become king. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
