This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Children Running From a Thunderstorm designed from a painting by Konstantin Egorovich Makovsky shows two children (an older child carrying her younger sibling) on her back to escape the wrath of an impending storm brewing overhead. She is cautiously walking on the planks that span a small stream, but keeps an eye on the storm approaching. Both are frightened and just want to get home as soon as possible before the storm reaches them. The clouds overhead are turning from blue to gray, and the breeze has picked up. Let's hope they make it home soon. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
