This Charles White counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Willow Pond designed from a painting by Charles White shows a spectacular scene with a weeping willow cascading her monochromatic shades of green tendrils into the water while the sunlight is glinting on the leaves literally making them glow. A tree with purple blooms on the left adds to the spectrum of color while flowering mounds of flowers in red, orange, peach, white and lavender grow along the pond's edge. In the stillness of the pond, the reflection of splendor is mirrored and all is quiet except for the trill of birds nearby. A park bench is in the background and if sitting on it, you would only be a few feet away from a deer who has wondered over the hill foraging for food. How could an artist dream up such beauty unless he has seen heaven himself! This would be a lovely stitch! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
