This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled A Storm in the Rocky Mountains designed from a painting by Albert Bierstadt shows a tremendous storm brewing in the sky across the Rocky Mountains.  The sky is an ominous collection of colors ranging from black, gray, shades of midnight blue, teal and periwinkle to blustery white-capped clouds shielded by a smattering of gray clouds to the left.  The dark façade of the huge mountain to the right helps to block the storm from its effects while the inside or belly of the center rock formation is bathed in golden light from a shaft of light filtered in just before the storm.  All vegetation and every creeping thing in its path is at the mercy of the storm, but all will be fine and what dies will regenerate a new breed to take its place.  For those of you who love the drama of stormy skies like myself and can find the beauty in it, this is the epitome of stormy scenes!  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect
