This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled La Pia de' Tolomei designed from a painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti shows a young woman with auburn hair sitting on the floor in her dress toying with her wedding ring on her finger. She apparently has been sitting there for quite some time in deep contemplation of her current situation which seems unhappy and is reason for despair. She has a pile of her husband's old love letters she has undoubtedly read over and over again, and her situation is not getting any easier. She is sitting by a window and a vibrant vine is growing on a wall near her. Unfortunately she has been imprisoned by her husband inside those walls never to leave her imprisonment alive. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
