This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Italian Midday designed from a painting by Karl Briullov shows a woman who has climbed up a ladder to harvest grapes to place in her wicker basket.  Of particular note here is the use of lighting used to represent dappled sunlight that highlights the grapes and the softness of the woman's skin and body as she reaches up to pick her prized bunch of grapes.  This is one of the artist's most famous paintings and it's clear to see why.  The paint style used here is romanticism where the subject's emotions are portrayed on canvas, and it has resulted in this beautiful scene which would be lovely to represent with needle and thread.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
