This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Andromeda designed from a painting by Sir Edward John Poynter shows Andromeda chained to a rock to be devoured by a sea monster, only to be whisked away and rescued just in the nick of time by Perseus, her future husband. Andromeda is the daughter of an Ethiopian king. The violence of the storm and the winds whipping away at her shown by her drape is seen blowing in the wind while the sea water and high waves lick at her body that is fully exposed to the elements. This is a very dramatic scene worthy of stitching if you want that mood of drama or excitement! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
