This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Steward designed from a painting by Joseph de Camp shows a man in servitude as waiter and server for no doubt a wealthy family or some special event.  He is dressed in formal wear and is standing at a table in front of a roasted pig on a platter with assorted vegetables including wine in goblets.  In any case, he appears to take his role in life seriously and wants to give the job his best.  As Dr. Martin Luther King has said in paraphrase, if a person is going to be a street sweeper, then he should be the best street sweeper he can be and Dr. King believed in good stewardship.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
