This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Midsummer Eve designed from a painting by Edward Hughes shows a young woman who has gotten lost in the forest, and in a clearing suddenly encounters a ring of fairies at her feet dancing around her.  She is leaning forward to receive direction from the fairies as she is lost.  This is a magical night for her that signifies the pairing of lovers theme likened to that in the Shakespearean play Midsummer Night's Dream.  In any case, this is a beautiful pattern well worth the stitch.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
