This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Ophelia designed from a painting by Alexandre Cabanel depicts a scene from the play Hamlet where Ophelia is about to fall into the murky depths of the water when a tree branch breaks.  Ophelia is surrounded by flowers laying on top of the water, near her, and in her hair to form a crown.  She wears a light blue printed dress which reflects her innocence.  The scene takes place in a boggy marsh full of overgrown trees and plants, and the weeping willows symbolize mourning as death is about to take place.  She lifts her hand in a futile attempt to save herself, and there is no one around to save her and prevent this tragedy.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
